Class Descriptions

Mind and Body

Kundilini Yoga - Considered by most to
be the most powerful and inclusive of
yoga. This eastern discipline works on
all aspects of mind, body and spirit.

Asthanga Yoga - A dynamic and
challenging form of yoga. Each pose
is linked to the next through a series
of connecting movements, allowing the
body to create heat and leading to more
flexibility. Smooth, deep breathing, gaze
and locks are synchronized with the
movements. This powerful and vigorous
practice purifies and realigns the body,
cultivating a feeling of inner peace, and
leading to a natural state of meditation

Hatha Yoga – This is generally described as the mother of all yoga styles. It teaches techniques related to the physical control of the body. With its emphasis on body posture and movements that include stretching and holding and breathing exercises. The postures practiced are designed to deepen the awareness and centre the body and mind.

Body Balance - A BTS revolution in mind and body exercise! A dynamic fitness program that leaves you feeling relaxed and revitalised. Combine the best eastern disciplines, like Yoga and Tai Chi and new methods like Pilates and Feldenkrais to control breathing, concentration and stretches.

Pilates – A body conditioning technique designed to stretch, strengthen and balance the body. It targets the deep postural muscles though a series of exercises aimed at building muscle strength and re-balancing the body. Excellent for improving posture, strength and flexibility and aligning the body correctly. It can also teach co-ordination, concentration and control of the body.

Flexi-fit – Feeling stiff and suffer from tension in the body? Why not try Flexi-Fit, increase your flexibility, mobility to promote good posture and reduce injuries. A structured class combining basic and develop mental stretches giving your muscles a new range of movement. Loosen those limbs and give yourself that essential fitness component.

Sunday Stretch – Had a hard week at work? Need time to unwind? How about this dedicated class designed to relax the mind and sooth those aching bodies. Follow a flowing sequence of gentle stretches that aim to improve our mobility and flexibility then finish with a relaxation period to leave the mind, body and soul stress free.

Spin

Starter Spin - A great chance for new comers to experience the fat burners favourite! Designed to go through correct cycle technique and bike set-up to get the most out of the fantastic cardio session.

Spin-to-Win - The ride of your life! A much more dynamic version of spin. Test your endurance and strength over a varied terrain to push your fat burn and fitness to new levels!

G-Force - The GL-14 exclusive indoor cycling experience using atmospheric lighting. A high energy, calorie burning, cardiovascular workout, using your favourite music and dynamic motivation.

All Over Body

Circuits – Ideal for any gym goer. This class uses a range of stations in rapid concession using a host of muscle sculpting, energy enhancing fat slugging exercises. Push your way through this original gym regular with great results.

Bootcamp - LINE UP MAGGOTS! Your chance to be pushed higher, harder and faster through a series of challenging stations that will strengthen, condition and increase those fitness levels to new limits. Quitting is not an option!

Aqua – Join in the fun of this fabulous water based workout designed to suit everyone's needs. A total body workout combining cardio-vascular and resistance exercises using specialised gloves, woggles and/or dumbbells. Be sure not to miss out on this exciting class that will leave you feeling revitalised.

Calorie Burning

Free Step – Step the right way to a better you! Another favourite is still here, freestyle step brings you the hottest routines out there but still keeps those heart and lungs working well whilst promoting fat burn. Don't be shy and take a step forward to help with co-ordination, balance and body awareness.

Body Step - A Body training systems program using a height adjustable step. This provides a high energy cardio workout to music and features intervals and muscle conditioning as well as great fat burn results.

Body Attack - A BTS Cardio-vascular programme involving interval training that incorporates aerobics, strength and stabilisation exercises. This dynamic class provides great motivation and exciting music. An easy to follow class and a rapid calorie burner!

Retrobics – Taking you back to the old school with this aerobics class, classic music and moves. Be sure you won't be confused with complex routines, simple and effective to provide a fast paced energetic workout

Trekking - A class set totally on the treadmill. Let the gym team push you across a challenging course of hills using running or walking techniques.

Cardio-blast – Blast your way to a healthier heart and lungs with this 30 minutes cardio-vascular workout. Be taken through your paces on the Cardio equipment to give you that ideal workout that will always provide you with what we all want, FAT BURN! Try this for a great start to your day.

Muscle Tone and Conditioning

Body Pump - The BTS most successful program!. Set to great music, this is proven 'the worlds fastest way to get into shape' A class using adjustable barbells and weights to tone and condition the entire body using a series of weight bearing lifts and presses.

Legs, Bums and Tums (LBT) – An all time favourite purely designed to give you those lustful legs and beautiful bums and toned tums. A great conditioning class for everyone and always light hearted.

Human Sport (HS) Circuit - Unique to GL-14 Fairfield, get involved in this revolutionary cable motion circuit designed to help all aspects of tone, strength and size. Ideal for rehab and sport specific trainees as well as general conditioning.

Body Sculpt – Do you want to improve your body shape? Then this is the class for you. It conditions the whole body using dumbbells, bodybars and your own body weight. Be sure to work on those weaker areas giving you maximum benefits and improving muscular strength and endurance.

Fitball – Get the ball rolling with this specialised and very effective class. Fitball is one of the best ways to work on core stability and balance as well as muscular conditioning. You will be taken through a range of exercises to help improve these areas. Great to give you new ideas for your own workout and for those who are new to Fitball.

Abs Blast - Everyone wants the perfect abs right? Then join us for a 15 minute workout dedicated to the abs and lower back area. A great addition to any workout!

Xpress Tone – Condition your way to better fitness with this 30 minute workout using the gym equipment. Short and straight to the point to give you the best in a short period of time setting you up for the day ahead.

Combat

Boxercise - This class has developed age old training principles and adapted them to form a fun, addictive, safe, stress busting workout suitable for all ages and levels of ability.

Body Combat - An explosively popular BTS program. The class includes a range of stances and self-defence disciplines like karate, boxing and taekwondo and combines these to create a fierce and energetic experience.

Martial Moves - An Aerobic based class incorporating a range of different stances and the delivery of kick and punch combinations to adrenaline pumping music.

Box-Fit - A physically demanding workout that will push you to the limits and get rid of those blues! Join the gym team in the boxing area where they will teach you a range of punches and movements from the boxing discipline. This can be a great intro to boxing or as a cardio based workout.

Muay Thai - A self-defence technique developed in battle by the ancient warriors of Thailand. The class will focus on extreme conditioning and a full body workout using pads and shields whilst incorporating all skills of the martial art.

More Classes…

50+ - It is ideal for those adults in their 50's and 60 are looking to revitalise their fitness lifestyle. Help strengthen those bones and keep your body in tip top shape. A tailored class to give you low impact aerobic exercise mixed with total body conditioning.

Street Dance - A funky and fun class using a combination of street , Hip Hop and MTV moves to provide a dance alternative to fitness, plus a chance to strut your stuff!

Aerolatino – Get ready to flash some sexy, sassy movements and wiggle those hips with Aerolatino. A class bringing you exotic Latin flavour combined with aerobics to deliver a high energy class providing an effective fat burning and cardio-vascular workout.

Pre Natal Yoga – This safe and effective class is suitable throughout pregnancy. It will help the mother and baby develop a strong bond and promote deep relaxation and encourage and embrace a healthy pregnancy

Post Natal Yoga - Devised to help your body recover from pregnancy and labor and will help to realign the lower back after carrying your new born for the last 9 months. This will also help you to regain shape and tone around the tummy and pelvis and will leave you feeling relaxed and revitalized.

Aqua-Natal – Keep active during your pregnancy with this ideal water workout designed especially for you, safe and extremely beneficial way of exercising. Improving the body all round using a variety of different equipment.
